Storytelling for Conservation & Community

Nomad Wildlife is a long-form photography and documentary storytelling project focused on the natural world, conservation efforts, and the people and organizations working to create positive change across Albania, the Balkans, and beyond.

Through photography, field reporting, visual essays, and documentary film, we create stories that help audiences connect with landscapes, wildlife, communities, and the work being done to protect and strengthen them.

Featured by PPNEA

Our photography has been featured by PPNEA (Protection and Preservation of Natural Environment in Albania) as part of their public conservation communications and wildlife awareness efforts in Albania.

PPNEA is one of Albania’s leading environmental organizations, working to protect biodiversity, endangered species, and critical ecosystems throughout the region.

Seeing our work used to help communicate conservation stories in Albania has been an incredible honor and an important milestone for Nomad Wildlife.

Community Storytelling with Mary Ward Loreto

Nomad Wildlife has also begun working with Mary Ward Loreto Foundation, one of Albania’s leading organizations addressing human trafficking, exploitation, and social vulnerability.

Our first documentary collaboration followed a vocational development program in Puka and Fushë-Arrëz, where young participants receive professional training, practical support, and the equipment needed to begin building independent careers.

Through interviews, documentary video, photography, and field storytelling, we aim to help Mary Ward Loreto communicate the impact of its programs while protecting the dignity, privacy, and agency of the people involved.

This collaboration reflects a broader belief behind our work: thoughtful storytelling can help organizations make meaningful work visible, build public understanding, and connect with the communities that support their mission.

Why We Do This Work

Conservation and community work depend on more than research, policy, and programs alone. They also depend on people understanding why that work matters.

Photography and documentary film can create emotional connection, inspire curiosity, and help audiences care about landscapes, species, communities, and experiences they may never otherwise encounter firsthand.

Our goal is to create honest, immersive visual stories that bridge the distance between audiences and the people, places, and organizations working to build a better future.
